What really matters in the energy transition

Tapahtuma

21.6.2024
At this year's Intersolar Europe, which took place from June 19 to 21 in Munich, Fronius once again showed why the Austrian solar pioneer is an integral part of the industry. With the invitation to "Meet the Solutions", the solution provider invited long-standing partners, the press and all those interested in renewable energies to its stand and presented new products and solutions to make 24 hours of sun a reality.

“Choose what matters”
Visitors to the Fronius stand were greeted with this call to action, as this year's presentation was not just about countless new products. Rather, the goal was to present itself to the public as a long-established holistic solution provider in the field of renewable energy. Fronius dedicated an entire wall to this motto, with the theme "24 reasons why Fronius". Durable products, top service quality and responsible use of resources are just three examples of the many reasons to choose Fronius. In addition, the Austrian family-owned company drew attention to the importance of European value creation in the solar industry.

Fronius Argeno - Maximum energy
The brand new Fronius Argeno inverter in the 125 kW power class combines maximum efficiency and reliability. This high-yield solution is designed specifically for commercial PV projects. Thanks to innovative silicon carbide technology, the string inverter minimizes conversion losses and achieves a remarkable maximum efficiency of 99.1 %. With its ten powerful MPP trackers, the Fronius Argeno optimizes the energy yield of PV systems even with different module orientations and inclinations. Available from fall 2024, the inverter offers versatile installation options, various connection options and a wide voltage range. With proven Fronius service and support, and the highest quality and safety standards, the European-made inverter is the ideal choice for your customers.

Fronius Verto - the flexible all-rounder
A second "new face" at the Fronius stand was the Fronius Verto, an inverter in the 25-33 kW power classes, which was developed primarily for small and large businesses, agricultural applications and apartment buildings. With a multi-MPPT concept, high-current MPPTs, a wide input voltage range and innovative shading management, the Fronius Verto enables maximum flexibility in system design. Different module orientations or inclinations as well as shading are no problem for the Fronius Verto. The system is rounded off by proven Fronius features such as simple installation and commissioning, open interfaces for a wide range of system management and sector coupling options and European data security.

E-mobility at two trade fair stands
In addition to Intersolar, Fronius was also represented at Power2Drive Europe, just a stone's throw away from the main stand. Everything there revolved around e-mobility, making the popular Fronius Wattpilot an obvious highlight. Once again, the flexible and intelligent electric car charger, available in both fixed and portable versions, was presented at the trade fair. The difference this year is that the Fronius Wattpilot has some prestigious awards up its sleeve. In addition to the already announced German Innovation Award, the Fronius Wattpilot Home 11 J won the ADAC PV Wallbox Test 10/2023 and was the clear winner as the cheapest and best charging box.

Fronius EMIL, a cloud software solution that intelligently adapts the company's charging management to its current power requirements and thus prevents peak loads, was also represented at the trade fair. This is primarily intended to help companies whose charging infrastructure is being pushed to its limits by the growing company fleet of electric cars. No matter where, no matter when, Fronius EMIL allows direct visualization and control of all charging processes in the company e-mobility system via remote access. With just a few clicks, companies can easily manage their electric vehicle fleet across all locations and efficiently protect their charging infrastructure from overloading.

A lot of the tried and tested – And even more new
In addition to the well-known Fronius solution portfolio, which also had a permanent place at the trade fair, it was above all the numerous innovations that attracted visitors from all over the world to the stand. The popular Fronius GEN24 inverter series also welcomed a new member to the family: the Fronius Symo GEN24 12.0 & 12.0 Plus SC expands the popular home inverter product series with an additional power class.

With the Energy Cost Assistant, Fronius presented another product innovation in the field of digital solutions. The Solar.web Premium feature, to be launched in 2024, will make intelligent optimization of home storage systems based on flexible electricity tariffs a reality.

Backup power supply was a key topic at the Fronius stand. In addition to the recently introduced PV Point Comfort, which, unlike the PV Point already integrated in the inverter, also supplies a socket in parallel grid operation, the new components for the Full Backup option were presented: Fronius Backup Switch and Fronius Backup Controller. Both can be installed quickly and compactly in the meter cabinet. The cost- effective Fronius Backup Switch enables manual activation of backup power operation, while the Fronius Backup Controller provides automatic switching and returns back to normal operation as soon as the grid is available.

In summary, the Fronius stand at this year's Intersolar showcased a wide range of individual solutions that impressively underscore the company's growing focus on the prosumer. The Fronius system landscape is becoming increasingly dense and the Austrian family-owned company now covers a large proportion of the needs of PV system owners and those who want to become one. Fronius is thus demonstrating that European companies are still the innovation leaders in the solar market and is sending a clear signal for regional value creation.

"Intersolar 2024 has once again shown us how important it is for companies in the photovoltaic industry to network and cooperate across Europe to ensure that their innovative strength remains strong and focused. As an Austrian company, we are proud to be an important part of the energy transition and to continue developing our vision of 24 hours of sun," says Harald Scherleitner, new Head of the Solar Energy business unit, summing up his impressions of the trade fair.
