S:FLEX

1/12/2021 / Bad Krozingen, Germany
S:FLEX GmbH develops and manufactures prefabricated and tailor-made frame technology for flat roof, pitched roof and ground-mounted plants and supplies wholesalers, project planners and installers worldwide. The company serves its German customers from its headquarters in Hamburg and a further site in Bad Krozingen. Here, five electrically driven forklift trucks take care of the fast, emission-free and low-noise transport of goods at the site.
Seclectiva 4.0 charger charging forklift truck battery
To keep its ecological footprint as small as possible, all processes at S:FLEX are configured to be especially resource-conserving and energy-efficient. However, the 50 Hz transformer technology used to charge the forklift traction batteries up to now was causing high energy losses during charging due to heat generation, which damaged the batteries. For this reason, the photovoltaics experts were looking for a way to supply their forklift trucks with self-generated solar power without any detours.
Fronius inverter
Fronius provided the solution in collaboration with the Perfect Charging and Solar Energy business units: six Selectiva battery chargers supply the forklift fleet with energy in a gentle, efficient manner using the Ri charging process. This energy comes from a PV system on the roof which is equipped with five Fronius Symo inverters. S:FLEX is now able to benefit from dynamic feed-in management and clear consumption visualisation, and is very satisfied with this complete system sourced from a single supplier.

» This combination of photovoltaic and battery charging technology is certainly unique on the market. With Fronius, we have been able to significantly reduce our electricity requirements and operating costs, while at the same time making our intralogistics more sustainable «
