If you have never installed a Fronius
Ohmpilot before, don’t worry – the process for you as an installer is
incredibly quick and easy to carry out.
The detailed Installation Instructions can
be found in the downloads section on the right. We have also created a video to
demonstrate how to carry out the individual steps in practice.
But, what makes installation so easy?
/ The performance of the heating element
and the number of phases are measured automatically.
/ Setting up communication between the
Ohmpilot and the inverter is effortless. No matter whether you are using LAN or
RS485, the connection is established automatically.
/ If you choose WLAN communication, the
password can be exchanged with the router by pressing a button.
/ If you select the “Self-consumption”
setting, there is no need to apply any settings at all. Simply connect the
Ohmpilot and, after a short while, the Ohmpilot will start using the excess PV
energy.
/ If your customer has registered their
system in the Fronius Solar.web portal, that's fantastic – it means data from
the Ohmpilot will automatically be displayed in the portal.
By installing the Fronius Ohmpilot, your customers can increase their rate of self-consumption to more than 70%. Your customers can therefore make savings on two fronts: on the one hand, they use more of their own PV energy for their own personal requirements, and on the other, they are conserving fossil fuels such as gas and oil.
The Solar.web monitoring tool provides
indispensable support for you as an installer when it comes to evaluating and
analysing the PV system. You can use the consumption and production curves to
easily determine your customers’ usage patterns and identify potential areas
for optimisation.
As you can clearly see from the diagram, on
this particular day, this PV system used almost half of the PV surplus to heat
water (shown in blue). This is the amount that would have been fed into the
grid without the Ohmpilot. With the Ohmpilot, however, the excess energy is
used to heat water, saving on heating and hot water costs, increasing the
service life of the existing heating system and increasing self-consumption.
The Fronius Ohmpilot helps the environment.
As using the Ohmpilot reduces the amount of fossil fuels required, it plays a
major role in reducing CO2 emissions.
For example, by using the Fronius Ohmpilot
in a household with a gas heating system, your customers can save 1,800 kWh of
gas per year, which corresponds to 124 kg of CO2. This is the equivalent to
driving 1,030 kilometres in a car.
Does your customer already have a PV System? If the answer is yes, that’s not a problem – the Fronius Ohmpilot can be easily integrated into an existing installation. Installing the Ohmpilot is incredibly easy. You can see for yourself just how easy it is in the instruction Video.
Does your customer already have a PV system, but one that uses inverters from a different manufacturer? Even this isn’t a deal breaker for the Ohmpilot. You only need the Datamanager Box, which is used to connect the Fronius Smart Meter and control the Fronius Ohmpilot.
